Inspired by the idea that any protection needed will come from the detachment of the ego. The ego is the only aspect of our being that desires protection from something bad or negative. Our soul, or pure energy is made of all that is, which includes the dark and the light. This mandala illustrates the protection contains an equal amount of dark and light and creates the balance we already have within us.
