Inspired by my experiences in Mali, West Africa. Komo is an entity that the Bamana people consult via drumming, singing and dancing to gain information, knowledge and wisdom regarding the health of the village as a whole and specific individuals within the village. Komo may also provide information regarding any upcoming climate issues that could affect the food supply (crops) or any potential dangers from outside people or forces (seen and unseen) Komo is a protector and helper and is devoted to serve the people who honor it.
