West African Drum Classes & Lessons

20111226-_4D26709Martin Klabunde is a TTM certified professor of the djembe. He has been playing drums since he was 15 years old and made a full time living playing and teaching the djembe around the US and overseas. His classes are fun and educational. You will learn both traditional and contemporary rhythms from Guinea and Mali, West Africa as well as some very fun musical arrangements that enable the class to combine rhythms into a single performance piece.

His classes are taught in an ensemble environment that allows for the students to interact with each other, have fun and experience the power of the djembe when playing with others. His mixed level classes are open to everyone! Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced player, these classes are for you! Come and let’s play djembe together!

This is an opportunity to create balance, have fun, connect, and just let go of whatever stops you from being more open, relaxed, expressive and clear.

You will learn both traditional and modern Djembe rhythms in a comfortable and fun atmosphere. Djembes available to rent for class and to purchase.

The cost is $15, plus a $5 drum rental fee (if needed).

Spread the word! We will build a large community of people who want to use the drum to create positive change.
