Developing A Mindset For Success!

Success MindsetYou’re here because you have an interest in a success mindset. That’s great! Maybe you have goals, desires, and big plans for your future and you are looking for the formula to create success or maybe you’re just curious. Either way, you are in the right place! Success is an interesting thing for sure. When people speak of success they often mean in regards to money and wealth. Of course, that can mean success, and there are other areas of our life where success is also meaningful; relationships, both personal and business, and lifestyle or the way we spend our time are just a few more. Whatever aspect of life you are looking for more success in, one thing is important. We need to define success. What does it mean to you and how would you define it.

I have come up with a definition that works for me. It is the foundation for my goals and it is one that I strive to work towards everyday.

“Living life with a deep sense of freedom and in a way that allows you to experience happiness, joy, connection and the all the fullness that life offers us.”

For me, this is a full definition of success. It embodies all aspects of life that I wish to be successful at, relationships. freedom of time and money. They are all connected and we cannot eliminate one and hope to have success in our life with this definition.

So, where to start?

I want to frame this within the concept of the entrepreneur. An entrepreneur is one who takes on the a business enterprise with emphasis on the risk and effort of individuals who own and manage a business, and on the innovations that result from their pursuit of economic success. It is in pursuit of the economic success that one must develop a mindset for success for that person to succeed. A benefit of this pursuit is that the entrepreneur will develop a skill set that can benefit them in all other aspects of life, if they allow it. So, if becoming an entrepreneur or deepening your entrepreneurial path is not your interest, that is okay. Read on and I think you will see how these proven concepts will allow you to create practical actions to improve all areas of your life.

A Success Mindset consists of 5 areas that must be mastered. When we focus on developing a success mindset we actually rewire our mind to think in a more positive way. We eliminate negative thinking and begin to look for opportunity. We see the world with open eyes, unlimited possibilities and learn how to take action to create our dreams. Let’s begin!

  1. Vision
  2. Belief
  3. Thoughts
  4. Decisions
  5. Actions

~ Vision ~

  • What is your vision for the future?
  • What do you want?Vision
  • What will you create?
  • What will it look like?
  • What are the desired results?

First thing we need to do is take responsibility. Whether you like or do not like what you have in your life at this moment, recognize that you are responsible.

It is your Vision that created your circumstance and experience.

The good news is that you have the POWER to change it all! We are humans, we are master manifestors, we manifest our world into reality everyday! You are the master of your reality and your vision starts in your mind and stems from your imagination.

Vision: a thought, concept, or object formed by the imagination

~ Mindset ~

plant-seedsThe mind is much like fertile soil… whatever you plant and feed will grow. The soil does not say, ” I will grow only plants that nourish, but none that are poisonous.” No, it will grow whatever seed you plant and nourish. The mind is the SAME! Whatever thought you plant and nourish; the mind will continue to grow that thought. If you have negative thoughts all day long, you will produce negative experiences, you will attract negative people and you will strengthen the negativity in your mind and in your life. So be mindful of what you say to yourself and others and remember that the way we use our language shapes our emotion. In other words, the way we speak influences the way we feel and the way we feel is the nourishment our mind needs to grow thoughts that form our beliefs.

Your thoughts are either your greatest enemy or your greatest asset.

Your mind is a muscle. Nourish it with feeling good, feed it with positive thoughts and strengthen it daily for maximum productivity.

~ The 98% vs. the 2% ~

There are all sorts of ways to label and describe people. I will use this to differentiate between those who have developed a success mindset and those who have not. The 98% have not. Now, keep in mind that most of us have been born into the 98% mindset. This is how the majority of people think, believe and act. If you want to develop a mindset for success then you will need to transition from the 98% to the 2% and that is what this page is about.

Who are the 98%?
average-gradeHere are some characteristics they share:

  • Argue for their limitations
  • Are slow to act and quick to change
  • Rarely follow thru
  • Accept lack
  • Consider doubt
  • Never get uncomfortable/stay in comfort zone

Who are the 2%?

  • WhereMagicHappens2See opportunity
  • Quick to act and slow to change
  • Always follow thru
  • Accept nothing less than success
  • Make a decision to let doubt go NOW.
  • Are willing to get uncomfortable and out of comfort zone

The 98% have a small vision and do not take risks. They live under the illusion that there is more security in stability. For example, the 98% work a job because they consider a steady paycheck to add stability to life. Whereas the 2% borrow money to start their own business because they see that they can create a more fulfilling lifestyle and help others as well.

The 98% operate under the illusion that the company they work for will be around their entire life or that they will not get injured or sick. They forget about the reality that life changes and there are always unforeseen events that can and will undermine the stability they seek to create.

The 2% have a bigger vision. They create a business that will give them multiple streams of income, including passive and residual income. They look at creating multi-generational wealth they can pass on to their family. They seek to make a difference, leave the world a better place, and leave a legacy for generations to come.

The 2% are willing to take risks, to jump with no parachute
and learn to grow wings on the way UP!

Here’s the crux:

“The reason why you don’t have what you want to have
is the story about why you don’t have it.”

– Tony Robbins

So, how do we transition from the 98% to the 2%?

Cultivate your Vision! Think about what you want, what it looks like, what it feels like and what the desire result is.

If I told you there was a simple system that you could use to manifest your dreams would you be interested in knowing more about that?

Well, there is such a system. I believe it to be very powerful and it is very simple. So simple that, with practice, anyone can do it. It is commonly referred to as The Law of Attraction. This system is so powerful that you can actually change your circumstance, your experience, your beliefs and your thoughts within a short period of time and in doing so, you will also transition from the 98% to the 2%. Wow! You can accomplish BOTH at the same time!

Here’s the catch… You need to practice this EVERYDAY. That is precisely why most people will not succeed with it; they are so caught up in the monotony of life that they find it difficult to do anything other than what they are already doing. For me, this is tragic. We have such a limited amount of time on this planet and yet, we forget that our time nad how we use it is the KEY to living a fulfilling life.

~ The Law of Attraction ~

The Law of Attraction is simple. It states that when you align your desires with your thoughts and emotions you will manifest what you desire. Simple yes; easy, well, no.

To begin you need to be very clear on what you want. Then you’ll need to look at where the desire comes from. Does it come from a place of lack, or not having it? If so, you’re already headed in the wrong direction. Contrast, or knowing what you want from experiencing what you don’t want is a powerful tool, but should not be used to manifest what you desire. For, the very feeling of lack and the emotions that are associated with it, will prevent you from getting it. So how do we get what we desire then? How do we manifest our dreams into reality?

  • You must BELIEVE!
  • You must ACT AS IF.
  • You must live like it already exists, like you already have it.
  • IT’S A DONE DEAL!

You see, what you think MATTERS! As I stated before, your mind is like fertile soil; it will grow whatever seed you plant. When you combine and align your desires with your positive thoughts and the positive emotions you experience when you receive what you want, then you actually ATTRACT that into your life. No longer will you have to chase the dream, search for the key and struggle or fight to get it. Your desire will come to you naturally.

My experience is based on my circumstance, which is based on may actions, which have foundation in my thoughts that stem from my belief.

Here is a diagram that will illustrate this more clearly.

BeliefCycle

Most of us think that if we want to change our experience we must first change our circumstance. We try so hard to change that and we struggle. Why? It is because we are still working with the SAME beliefs. We still have negative thoughts about ourselves and our place in the world. We compare ourselves to others, we judge ourselves based on what we think others think. I irony is that most people are also doing this. So we have an large portion of the population all playing within this paradigm. Most people are living in this illusion.

If you want to really change your experience, then change your belief. How do you do that? Change your thinking. Out with the old and in with the new. Dump the garbage and plant new seeds. Noursish them daily and enjoy the transition.

~ How You Feel Matters! ~

Right now you are attracting what you feel. Be mindful of your emotions, they are a force that sends a message to the universe and the universe responds by sending you the same energy that you put out. There is a saying, “anger begets anger”, and this illustrates this concept. So it is also true that joy begets joy and happiness begets happiness. So, let’s take this concept and use it within the Law of Attraction.

When you align your desires with your thoughts and emotions, you have a very powerful tool to bring your dreams into reality. Sit down and take a few minutes to think about what you want. Observe your position, or where the thoughts originate. Do they come from a place of lack or abundance. This is easy to recognize, just observe your emotions. Do you feel anxiety, worry or feel fear when you think about desires or so you feel happiness, joy and contentment.

You can shift quickly into a positive feeling when you think about how you will feel when you achieve your desire. Do this… feel how you will feel when you have what you desire. Deepen your experience, let your imagination run free, dream and enjoy. While you are doing that, use your thoughts to ignite a story that narrates your experience. Tell yourself that the universe is setting it up, that you already have what you desire, that it’s a DONE DEAL. Act as if you already have it. Let go of any doubt, any limiting thoughts or doubt.

Feeling good is the most important thing you can do on a daily basis. When you feel good, you think positive thoughts and attract more goodness to your life. There is one thing you can always do to shift from any negative thought or emotion into a place of feeling good. Gratitude is a powerful emotion that will move you in a place of feeling good as quickly as you can cultivate it. Think about what you are grateful for in your life, maybe it’s friends, family, your business or job, the success you’ve had or even the success that is coming! Whatever you are grateful for, think of that and shift into a place of feeling good within seconds.

bridgefoggyThe transition to the 2% can be unclear at times. You may not always be able to see your destination or even the path and this is normal, it is okay to be unclear and confused. The most important thing you can do is to keep moving forward, keep walking and take the next step. When you take the step, then the path reveals itself, even if only you can see right in front of you, sometimes that is all you need.

When you begin to grow, others will have an opportunity to reflect on themselves. Some will choose to grow with you and others will not. There will be a gap that is created between you and those who choose not to grow. Close the gap. Recognize that it is up to them to step up can come to you. You lead. You cannot afford to come back down and pull them up or stay where they are at. You are a visionary and a leader. Good leaders always lead by example and never allow others to drag them down.

Choice-detrmines-your-successSo stay the course, practice daily and remember that choice, not circumstance determine your success. When you fall down, get back up. When you fail, fail forward. One of the best pieces of advice I have received is to learn to start over. Success is not a steady climb upward. Success is a series of plateaus, each with a short climb in between. At the beginning of each plateau you must start over. When you train your mind to be okay with starting over, you gain the energy you need to move forward in a powerful way. There is power in starting over, so do it daily.
